Engineering education is vital as the world needs more Engineers with the right engineering skills for sustainable development. You are pleasantly welcome to the School of Engineering (SoE) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. Our multidisciplinary School focuses on identifying and solving energy and natural resources challenges where humanity traverses the physical world, using engineering tools to impact society. SoE serves as an incubator for academic and research excellence with its complimentary Earth Observation Research and Innovation Center (EORIC) and Regional Center for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES) that work cohesively to improve the world around us. SoE is at the forefront of the development paradigm for providing outstanding quality engineering education that allows graduates from UENR to be highly competitive in their chosen areas of study. The School of Engineering at UENR offers unique opportunities for education and research and was established in 2012 to meet the increasing demand for highly educated, motivated, and competent engineering graduates. We currently offer undergraduate degree programmes in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Renewable Energy Engineering, as well as graduate degree (MSc, MPhil and PhD) programmes in Sustainable Energy Management, and Environmental Engineering and Management.

The curricula for all the programmes are carefully structured to respond to current needs and emerging challenges in the respective areas or disciplines of the programmes. Our curricula are designed around a philosophy of experiential learning and competency-based training. A conducive academic environment and flexible schedules allow diverse students’ needs to be satisfied. In our School, courses within programmes are taught and facilitated by very experienced Lecturers, including Professors who actively engage students in the teaching and learning process and mentor the next generation of engineering leaders. Students are continuously helped and encouraged to actively participate in all learning experiences and interact with lecturers and peers, as well as industrial partners, as part of efforts to provide an interesting engineering education experience.
