The Department was split from the then Department of Energy and Environmental Engineering into two departments, namely the Department of Energy and Petroleum and the Department of Civil and Environmental respectively in 2018.
The department runs both undergraduate and graduate programs. The BSc in Environmental Engineering program commenced in the 2013-2014 academic year under the then Department of Energy and Environmental Engineering. However, the Civil Engineering program started in the 2017-2018 academic year. The postgraduate programs (MSc and PhD) in Environmental Engineering and Management commenced in the 2015-2016 academic year.
The Civil and Environmental Engineering at UENR is focused on applying engineering and science to help find solutions to the emerging challenges of our changing world and important societal problems of the twenty-first century.
